Business Activity Monitoring (BAM)
Polymita BAM allows the definition and control of key performance indicators.
It provides process owners or business analysts, self-service capability to create and change dashboards and reports, combining multiple key performance indicators inside a portal-based user interface, without being exposed to technical details of data and event retrieving.
Polymita BAM module offers a wide variety of monitoring and analysis reports such as charts, diagrams and data tables.
Polymita BAM allows Business users and process owners to configure their own custom dashboard, getting:
- An overview of the company parameters, such as expenses by offices , by department, by date or by people.
- The graphical representation of indicators and custom searches in the form of 3D graphics, lines, bar, pie, etc…
- Data reports associated with contents or processes.
- Increased control and traceability over the organization´s activities.
Thanks to the audit module, can access the historical of the cases execution, thus maintain a single point of access and consultation to determine the current status and past each of them.
- Which user initiated the case?
- Current status of the case.
- Case execution historical, with actions made, who made them and the exact point in time.
- Case participants, whether user groups or individual users, and if they have anything to do.
- Access to all current data in a case.
- If the user has permissions, you can perform tasks from other users, enabling effective management of the case.
Indicators that aggregate multiple sources of information can be built easily by the combining several types of data:
- Process Instances. For example, information about process instance performance.
- Repository Data, by setting a data provider by selecting a Dynamic Data Model. This data can be managed by Polymita, or being mapped to external data sources (virtual repository).
- Process Events (BPM Signal and Trigger Monitoring). When a signal or other internal or external event is fed into the BPM platform, this information is logged to allow BAM module retrieve expose it to the business level.
- Rules Events (BPM Rules Monitoring). Rules execution log information for BAM processing.
- External Data from Enterprise Systems. Polymita BAM Module can retrieve information from external data sources by querying enterprise systems. This information can be merged with Polymita’s own information to be monitored.
- Information retrieved by EAI connectors through Business Connectors. Information can be retrieved from other systems actively, for example, from the ERP and fed into the BAM module to be monitored.
- Data and events actively fed by external systems, like ESB infrastructure or third party software for monitoring purposes.

Some features that are important to highlight:
- Easy definition and presentation of a broad range of indicators without programming, thanks to being able to combine multiple sources of information and events.
- Rapid configuration of derived indicators, for example to display aggregated or detailed information about events or data.
- Set indicators target values, allowing responding when values get out of tolerance, by launching a new process instances, send a notification, or any other action that may be configured with Polymita’s BPM. This even allows changing business rules parameters dynamically, to change the flow of new and running processes.
- Drill Down by clicking in the chart area displaying aggregated data, to perform root cause analysis of a given indicator’s value.
- Combine information from multiple sources.
- Self-Service capabilities for business users to create data reports, and export them to other formats or export to Business Intelligence platforms.
- To allow faster adoption of BAM, Polymita provides some generic, out-of-the-box dashboards about process performance.
