BPMN Modeler

Polymita BPMN Online Modeler is the tool used by process analysts for process modeling, configuration, simulation, analysis and optimization. This is an authentic BPA tool, based on the BPMN standard, seamlessly integrated with the Process Engine to guaranty the round-tripping and with the other BPMS components to manage all features related to processes (organization, workflows, tasks, activities, actions, time span, deadline, documents, data, rules, exceptions, metrics, etc).

It is 100% web-based and provides a Flex-based rich user interface, thus offering an authoring and collaborative environment to business analysts to compose their model-driven solutions within a browser, without the need of installing any additional software.

The advanced simulation capabilities, with production data round-tripping, allow business analyst to measure process performance, detect bottlenecks, simulate on different scenarios and publish the new process models for execution, from the same authoring environment.

Key features:

  • Model-driven collaborative composition.
  • Fully integrated with execution engine.
  • User-friendly for business analysts.
  • Full BPMN modeling standard.
  • Process automation in one click.
  • Import / Export to standard formats: XML, XPDL and BPEL.
  • Incremental Model validation (similar to Eclipse compilation)
  • Process performance analysis.
  • Bottleneck detection.
  • Process audit trail.
  • Simulation with real production data.

Process authoring environment

Process Analyst, can edit any process browsed in the repository view, either creating a new version, or updating it. The edit environment displays the main following sections:

  • BPMN artifacts palette, to drag’n’drop into the edit area.
  • Process edit area, where process model can be edited.
  • Process data domain. Links to Dynamic Data Manager entities are defined here.
  • Process structure. A non graphical tree view of the process definition.
  • Validation errors and warnings are shown in real time.
  • Documentation area, to keep embedded documentation about each model element.

Online collaborative process design

Many analysts can work collaboratively at the same time in the same model. The tool alerts all possible conflicts that may occur during the concurrence, and shows the differences graphically to help in the decision of what changes to accept.

Simulation

Polymita provides several features to support optimization of process models, both in the process engine itself and the new Polymita online Process Modeler.

The online modeler offers advanced process model simulation capabilities, with real time data feeds from production systems. This allows adjustment of all the simulation parameters of the process models, perform scenario-based tests with graphical and statistical feedback to the process analyst, and make the necessary adjustments to any running process.

Key features of process simulation module for model analysis are:

  • Load of real-time data from production, or in XML format.
  • Multiple scenarios.
  • True business resources simulation (relationships, allocation and release), with bottleneck detectors.
  • Process instance groups (based on different profiles or behavior).
  • Real-time graphics indicators.
  • Statistics snapshots (back and forward in time).
